How to wear red lipstick

If you are like me, you will have wondered exactly how red lipstick will look on you, and will it suit you at all? And if it does, how do you apply it properly so it looks good and not tacky?

There are a few things you will need before you can proceed. You need a soothing scrub, red lip liner, a good quality lip brush, something to blot the lipstick with, preferably toilet paper or a soft cloth, and of course, the prefect red lipstick.

First things first, you must exfoliate your lips. To do this you take the scrub, any sort will work, and rub it over your lips using the tips of your fingers, while applying a slight bit of pressure so it will really work into the lips.

This will help to get the dry skin off and leaves your lips nice and smooth. If your lips aren’t smooth and there is still dry skin on your lips you might need to do this process a few times. You can easily make a scrub by mixing a bit of Vaseline and crystalline sugar together.

Then use a red lip liner to outline your lips, this will also help to keep the lipstick from bleeding. A lip liner can also be used to color your lips before you apply the lipstick, and that way it will stay for a longer duration of time.

Take a lipstick brush and run it over the tip of the lipstick a few times and then using the brush apply it to your lips.

Try to make it coated evenly. Now take something, a soft cloth or toilet paper, and put it between your lips and lightly close them a few times to blot it. Then re-apply the lipstick with the brush again, and then blot again. Repeat a couple of times to make sure the lipstick get perfectly set. You can finish off with a lipstick sealer for long hours of wear, or keep it like that.
