Dressing for the Prom

Every girl (and maybe guy) dreams of their big chance to go to the prom. Let’s say you’ve been asked to go to the prom with that certain guy you have had your eye on, and you have just accepted.

Now comes the time for thought – what do you wear? How do you do your hair and makeup? What accessories do you need? Here are some tips to help you out.

The first item of business on the list is to find your perfect dress. Whether it is formal or non-formal, long or short, full skirted or plain skirted, sleeveless or halter, there’s a dress for everyone.

Next, find the shoes. Do you want high heels or flats? If you can’t find the perfect color shoe you want, try black or white, or even get the shoe dyed to the exact color you want.

Make sure that the shoes fit you and won’t pinch your toes or give you blisters while you are dancing the night away. If possible, try to wear them around your house to break them in a few days beforehand.

Accessories! You’ll want a necklace, a bracelet, some earrings and a purse. Make sure you don’t go overboard with the jewelry though. Simple is better for the prom.

Look for matching items, or mix and match; it’s really up to you. Make sure you get a nice clutch or a small purse that will go with the dress which carries your phone, a bit of money, lipstick and maybe a small comb and tissues, for any small makeup repairs you need.

For the hair and make-up, you can hit up a salon to have a professional style you and help make you look like a dream. Get a pedicure and a manicure and have your fingernails painted or get some fake nails. But most important of all, you need to wear a smile.
